Parker, CO – April 13, 2017 – The inaugural Dressage Symposium in the Rockies (DSIR), hosted at The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) in benefit of Rocky Mountain Dressage Society (RMDS) has announced the addition of two more clinicians to an already strong line up of top dressage riders, trainers, and judges participating in the five-day event from May 20-24, 2017. Jane Weatherwax and Jane Savoie will now offer clinic and auditing opportunities alongside Steffen Peters, Lars Petersen, Michael Klimke, Axel Steiner, and Scott Hassler.
Jane Weatherwax is an FEI CDI 4* judge, as well as a renowned judge at the national levels in both the United States and in Canada. Weatherwax served on he panel of judges for the U.S. Selection Trials for the 2012 London Olympic Games and also judged at the 2007 Pan American Games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With a strong background and foundation in classical dressage training from her childhood in Europe, Weatherwax focuses on rider position and the effectiveness of communication between horse and rider. Weatherwax will host her portion of the clinic on Saturday, May 20, refining rider position and aid communication between horse and rider.
Savoie has won three National Freestyle Championships and served as the Olympic Dressage Coach for Team Canada during the 1996 and 2004 Games and also helped prepare the U.S. Eventing Team for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Savoie is an established author and clinician, having written five books. A selection of Savoie’s books will be available for purchase during DSIR and book signings with Savoie will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. During her clinic sessions on Tuesday, May 23, and Wednesday, May 24, Savoie will focus on helping to build confidence between horse and rider combinations.
A trade and vendor fair will be open to riders and auditors throughout the week, offering top quality equestrian products and goods, while daily exhibitions and demonstrations will accompany clinic sessions throughout the five days.
