For Immediate Release
Parker, CO – July 27, 2018 – The 2018 United States Eventing Association (USEA) American Eventing Championships presented by Nutrena® Feeds (AEC) are coming to Parker, Colorado, from Thursday, August 30 through Sunday, September 2. No successful event can be run without the help of an incredible team of volunteers and the AEC are no different! The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is currently accepting submissions for volunteers for the nation’s largest, annual eventing competition.

Volunteers have a front-row seat to the competition and they are often rubbing elbows with some of the sport’s best and most well-known athletes.
Volunteer opportunities are available during the four days of AEC competition as well as the five prep-days leading up to the event. Opportunities offered span from office and organizational assistance, to jump judging and other hands-on help. There are also several positions that require NO horse experience, making the volunteer experience possible for entire families, clubs, groups of friends, or those new to the horse world.
Volunteers have a front-row seat to the competition and they are often rubbing elbows with some of the sport’s best and most well-known athletes. They help spectators and riders get to the right place at the right time and provide assistance to those in need. They help enforce the rules and regulations of eventing which ensures a safe and fair competition for all those involved. Most importantly, they also have FUN! There are many rewarding and exciting positions to fill that will surely leave lasting memories of a Labor Day Weekend well-spent.
The Eventing Volunteers portal is an incredible tool that helps volunteers and organizers find the right person for the right position. Signing up through the portal will also make your hours credible with the USEA Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP). Positions are listed by date and offer detailed information, time constraints, required skill sets, and often training videos including tips, tricks. Volunteers are able to sign up through the website and will receive e-mail confirmation shortly thereafter.
Over two hundred volunteers are necessary to successfully run a competition of this size and we are grateful for each every one of you. As they say, many hands make light work, so let your friends, family, neighbors and barn mates know about all of the fun positions offered. Positions are even available for competitors so we encourage visitors to make the most of their time at CHP.
Eventing is a sport of teamwork and community and it clearly takes a village to run a competition of this size. CHP and the USEA would like to thank all volunteers, in advance, for their help. Volunteers will be provided with goodies including coffee and donuts, 2018 AEC hats, and lunch. Please refer to volunteer references provided by the USEA for more information about the AECvolunteering and the VIP.
